To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your running boards, regular maintenance is essential. We recommend a quick power wash or a hose down of the bracket and motors joint mechanism on a monthly basis to remove any excessive dust, dirt and debris buildup. This simple maintenance routine helps keep the moving parts in good working condition. Additionally, regular cleaning of the steps themselves, similar to how you would clean your car, is recommended. However, to maintain the slip-resistant coating feature of the steps, please avoid applying any polishes or waxes as it will take away from the anti slip coating functionality of the steps surface.
Lubricating all moving joints with a high-quality automotive parts lubricant will also help ensure smooth operation. We highly recommend applying FLUID FILMs Lanolin Spray which is easily available at Home Depot, Lowes and other big box stores as well as some automotive stores. Apply very liberally across all moving joint and hinges as it serves as a preventative and protective agent. Do NOT use products such as WD40 as its more of a solvent than a lubricant.
Depending on your individual environment of where you live, as part of your regular maintenance we recommend that the entire installation is inspected atleast every 3-6 months. All bolts, nuts and fittings should be inspected to ensure no part has loosened. Also all wiring connections should be inspected to ensure they are secure and not loose.
We stand behind the quality of our products with a full 12-month warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty is valid provided the running boards were properly installed according to the provided instructions. Our commitment to quality means that you can have confidence in the durability and reliability of our running boards.
